Shepard Fairey
Shepard Fairey is a leading figure in the contemporary street art movement. He made his mark in the early 1990s with the “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” campaign, which featured posters, stickers, and murals of the wrestler throughout Providence, Rhode Island.
In 2008, Fairey created his now-iconic “Hope” campaign poster for President Barack Obama. This piece, which reflects the artist’s ongoing interest in propaganda, portraiture, and political power, has become a cultural touchstone. Fairey’s art has achieved impressive prices at auction, with some works selling for six figures.
Fairey’s artwork is held in the collections of esteemed institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. If you’re interested in acquiring a piece of Fairey’s artwork, Ransom Art offers a selection of his original works and prints for sale. Contact us for more information.
